Each Family Assistance Center (FAC) has certain county guidelines in determining
who is the closest to assist each family. The Wing Coordinators primarily work with
the families within the Wing. Anyone listed on this form can be contacted regardless
of the service they are attached to. You can also find information about Guard family
programs by visiting:

The FAC was established by the Kansas National Guard through assistance from National
Guard Bureau for the support of deployed soldier’s families. The need was recognized
for a support and referral system to help ease the stress and burden that those
left behind experience. Every FAC works with their individual counties to establish
a contact network to help families through the toughest of situations 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
The FAC is a focal point to coordinate available resources, such as Chaplain Services,
Red Cross, Veterans Administration, and a host of other agencies with direct and
indirect interests in assisting and supporting military families. The FAC provides
a variety of supportive services to families from discussion groups, food pantries,
to video tele-conferencing. During the mobilization, the FAC is the family’s point
of contact for help with any type of problem. A telephone call to the FAC trained
staff and volunteers will either help solve the problem or direct individuals to
the appropriate program or agency.
